Thanksgiving Celebrations
All 4 of our Clubs enjoyed Thanksgiving dinners this month. Thank you to the Board members and volunteers who helped out at each Club. A special thank you to Davenport Rotary, who made 5 turkeys and hams, sides, and desserts to feed Davenport Club members and their families!
Arconic
We recently received funding from Arconic Foundation, which will help us purchase a much needed new van! Vans are essential for transporting members to Club, programs, and activities. Thank you, Arconic Foundation!
Cocoa Beano
Thank you to all who particpated in the 8th annual Cocoa Beano race! 2800 participants enjoyed a beautiful course, hot chocolate, and candy! This year's race raised $11,000 -thank you to the SPECIAL family for their generosity year after year!
Club News
Davenport Club
Davenport Club members loved celebrating Thanksgiving with their friends and families. They are very excited to soon begin Cello lessons! This partnership with the QC Symphony will give our younger club members a head start in learning a stringed instrument. Stay tuned for more exciting news and performances from our young musicians!
Moline Club
Moline Club members became 'Cooking Monsters' and held a Chef Day/bake sale at their club! They baked desserts at home with adult supervision, then sold them to raise money for a pizza party. Since then, the members decided to instead give the money to a charitable organization.
Moline Teen Center
Moline Teen Center members were very busy throughout November! They participated in the Holiday Hop, and hosted a 3 x 3 basketball tournament. The boys soccer team is currently 3-0: #1 in the standings!
Davenport Teen Center
The new Davenport Teen Center is in full swing with over 20 members! Members really enjoyed Thanksgiving at the Club, and they are excited to use the gym for basketball. They recently started financial literacy programming. Everyone is looking forward to the holiday season!
